a few days late...
Christmas is such a great time! I love getting to spend time with my family. And this year was awesome! Both of my brothers and their families came home for Christmas. So I got to spend Christmas with my niece and nephew! They are darling! And to top everything off. It snowed like CRAZY! Which led to a very white Christmas. So white, that my grandmas, who usually come out to my parents for Christmas, couldn't.
For Christmas, I had a hard time making a list for my parents of what I wanted "Santa" to bring me. My list was sad but what Santa brought me wasn't. I got a Wii! I also got money to buy the things I want for my wii, and some wii points so I can buy all the old school games for the wii and a recharging docking station for the controllers. I'm excited, although, I'm not sure how I'm going to play it in my tiny bedroom at school. Oh well! :)

Oh My!!!
I passed the FE! It was the scarest thing of my life. I got this email from NCEES saying the following:
"NCEES has released the results for the October 2008 Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) and the Principles and Practice of Engineering (PE) examinations. Your exam results will be available online until 12:00 a.m. EST, December 22, 2008. To access your results, please log in to your ELSES account and follow the instructions posted. Your exam results will then be e-mailed to you as a pdf attachment. "
And my heart started pounding. Needless to say, I instantly logged on to my ELSES account to get my results. And it tells me that my results will be emailed to me within the next hour. So I'm hoping that maybe I would be lucky and it would come soon. But no. I came back to my computer about every ten minutes to check if I got my email yet or not. And FINALLY, an hour later, I get an email. And all it says is, "Your results are attached."
Now my heart is really pounding because my computer just won't move fast enough to download the two files that are attached. When it finally downloads it won't open very fast either because my computer's just that lame. Well finally it opens. And this is the first thing I see:
YAY!!! It's so exciting! I'm glad I prepared so well for it. Its such a relief to be done! I was so excited, I actually started crying and I couldn't honestly believe what I was seeing. I literally printed it off to make sure I wasn't just seeing things!
Oh man it feels great! I'm an ENGINEER IN TRAINING!!! WOOT!
Too bad I didn't get a recording of me reading my letter. Maybe, if they actually send a paper version, I'll record me opening it! :)
Oh, and to top things off! I got the best grades I've ever gotten at USU so far. A, A, A, A-, B, B!

Updates
Just so everyone kind of knows what's been going on, cause I'm a slacker at this right now. School has been crazy busy! I've been working on reports and preparing for finals! It has been a crazy finals week too because I've only had two finals. I finished one today and it wasn't too bad. We'll see how I did come tomorrow when my grades get posted! But so far, I've gotten three A's! I probably got a B- or a C+ in my economics class but I'm okay with that because economics is the devil! I have one final on Friday! I'm hoping to do well on this final, I've been doing really well in the class so far but this test could either make or break my grade. I've been at an A- since our last test and I'd really like to keep that.
Forget about school, I got in my first, and hopefully only, car accident on Monday! Talk about scary! It wasn't even that big of an accident but it scared the crap out of me! I was upset for hours! Luckily, no one was really hurt. I got whiplash, but it is going away pretty fast. I'm still a little sore today. My car, on the other hand, is in PERFECT! condition. Who would have thought that a car almost older than me could hold up so well!?! They don't make cars like they used to though, because the car behind me cracked their bumper. I got to go to the emergency room too, which is something I haven't done since I was about ten. I got to wear a neck brace and lay on a backboard. Brian took pictures of it for me, so I'll add them on here once I get them! They took x-rays and made sure that I wasn't injured inside. But, they let me go and told me I should be fine, I'll just be sore for a while.
However, on a happier note, I'm going to Kurt Bestor on Saturday! And Friday night, we are going to go see Temple Square and see the lights! I'm excited for that. Seeing Christmas lights is one of my favorite things to do every year! I am way excited for both! And I'm excited to be done with classes so I can read like fifty books over winter break! Just need to figure out what to do for New Years!

I'm FREE!!!!

So on Saturday, I took the lovely 8 hour test, which ended up only taking 7.5. It was really funny to see all the engineering students lined up in the engineering building at 7:15 in the morning with their clear plastic bags that we all brought in. You would think I was totally freaked out when I went in there but it was actually kind of calming. Like I was just ready to be finished. Quite nice I must admit.
And the first four hours flew by! I had plenty of time to finish everything but man those hours went by fast. The second four hours weren't as nice. I did get finished early though so I left. But sitting in those rollie chairs they have down in engineering 101 really aren't that comfortable after 6 hours. And the best part, I feel good about it! I really don't think there's anything I could have done better. I answered everything I knew how to do and guessed as well as I could on the ones I didn't. I guess we'll see the results come end of December.

Engineering Rocks My Socks Off

Tomorrow is the day....
The day of reckoning...
I'm selling my soul...
To the Engineering World...
Tomorrow I start an 8 hour test... it might as well be 50 hours.
I am going to ace (so Mandy says)

I have to be at the engineering building by 7:15, and we begin the test at 7:40. There are 120 questions in the first 4 hours and 60 more questions in the second 4 hours. I think I get an hour to an hour and a half lunch break. I should be done around 5:30... ish... so by that time my brain will be fried! Yay for engineering!

Pumpkin Carvin!

So, as you can see... I carved a baby pumpkin! It was so much fun to do too! I was really bored last night because I was tired of studying and everyone was gone already. So I decided I wanted to carve a pumpkin. Well, I have a big pumpkin, but I didn't want to carve it and have it rot before Halloween came, and I also wanted to carve it with Brian. So, instead I decided to carve my baby pumpkin. It was fun. I used a 1/2 teaspoon to get all the guts out. Then I found the smallest metal spoon we had to smooth the insides. I also had bought a pumpkin carving kit with all the nice little knifes and saws in it, so I used them to cut my design! I love his cute crooked smile! He's so cute and as soon as I go to the store and buy some mini glow sticks, he is going to be lit up at night! I'll get a picture of him lit up too!

Twinners!
So... I found an even better picture then the one I had before. Here is proof that me and my cousin Eliza are twinners in appearance. However, if you ask Cole and Brandi, we are more than twins in just appearance. Apparently, when they went to visit Tom and his family, when they met Eliza, Cole and Brandi were both slightly confused if I had somehow teleported to Nashville. I promise I didn't though. Anyways, here's the picture.

Avoiding homework...
I can tell when I've been sitting at work too long.. its when I start to avoid doing my homework anymore. It has been kind of nice so far this week. This weekend I went home and spent time with my parents and studied for the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam (FE). And we also bought some pumpkins and squash! I also found out on Friday that I get to go to IACURH! Its another housing conference the week after my birthday! And its in Boulder, Colorado! I'm way excited! I also found out that I got a 93% on my fluids test! And an 86% on my mechanics test! Woohoo! Now, if only I can pass my economics test and my next fluids test, and the FE! Its going to be a long month! Well, at least there's HALLOWEEN!!!!

Cardboard Boats
So, on Saturday, for a program my RA put on, we did the coolest thing ever! We made a boat out of cardboard boxes and duct tape. And it really floats! We ended up sinking it though because one of the guys was rocking the boat. It was so much fun too! We called it "Her Majesties Ship Moen" (HMS Moen for short). I got to take the first ride in it too! The guys started to push me out into 1st dam without a paddle though, it made it a little hard to get back. Luckily one of the guys there was nice enough to pull be back in.

Night Hike, Birthday Parties, and the USU vs U of U game
So pretty much Saturday was the busiest day of my life. I started with a night hike Friday night with my residents! This was pretty much the coolest program I have ever done! Everyone had an awesome time and it felt so good to be outside like that! One of my residents, Matt, even brought a mask to try to scare people with. It rocked!
After sleeping for a few hours, I then went to study for the FE in the library with some friends... Where I found out I don't study well with others. :( Oh well, at least I learned.
Following the study session, I went to the movies with a couple of my bestest friend, Val and Kacey!!!! We saw House Bunny, which was totally a dumb movie, but had a couple of good one liners. "I got to meet this freakin bird!" Haha...
After the movies, I had the girls drop me off at my other friend's house so I could celebrate her birthday! Steph is now 22! We got to play all the classic birthday games, pin the tail on the donkey, break a pinata, and sing happy birthday to her!
After her birthday party I went to the USU vs U of U game where U of U kicked our trash... surprise surprise... But the game was fun! I got to spend more time with Val and Kacey, and even Greg, Sarah, and Kenny! At one point, Val and I stole Kacey's camera and were taking random pictures of anything we saw. It was a lot of fun.
This was an awesome Saturday but it was jam packed with things to do. I'd do it again in a heart beat!

These are Jeff and my awesome residents!

I'm Bored
So... since I kept a blog of my summer adventures, I thought maybe I should make a real blog that talks about what's going on in my life to help keep everyone updated. Not that my life is that exciting but hey, who knows. I figure, at the very least, this is something I can work on when I have a few minutes and am incredibly sick of school! Hope ya'll like it!
